Well hello! I decided to enter a design challenge. The clean design of this sketch really spoke to me. I decided to do a design with die cuts, which I never do. I generally stamp images, color them and then use that as a focal point with die cuts as accents.
The first few cards I made were very quick. I used MFT Peek-A-Boo Striped Heart Die along with the Stitched Heart Die. I used the Peek-A-Boo die to cut out my center heart on my panel and then used it to cut out strips of red, pink, grey and black card stock. I then inlaid the strips into the heart. I used tape to hold them in place. I then cut a heart out of the striped heart ans inlaid it into another card. I made sure I placed the stipes opposite one another.
I then cut out the heart key and used the sentiments from an older MFT card kit. I just love this kit. Used Wink of Stella, Glossy Accents and scattered a few hearts, and I was done.
For my next card I colored the Viking. I used him half a dozen times when I was making Valentines for the kids at St. Judes hospital. He is the right amount of fun and masculine to be very versatile. I then die cut the Peek-A-Boo stitched die into my card panel and adhered the Viking behind the panel so it looked like he was a prisoner of love. I added a sentiment a few hearts with Wink of Stella and Glossy accents on them and I was done. I really like how this turned out.
I used the MFT Stitched Rectangle die on all of the card panels. It is simple, but adds the perfect finishing touch.
I really enjoyed making these cards! They came together quickly and I will re-create but not use Wink of Stella (no glitter in the hospital).
Enjoy your day!
Warm Regards,
Patty
