I have been scrapbooking and making cards for over 16 years now. I have been expanding my supply horizons past the local big box stores for the last 6 or so.
One of the stamp companies I really enjoy is Jane’s Doodles ( @janesdoodles ). The drawings are very charming and the hand lettered sentiments are some of my favorite. While I did just receive the polar bear set and the kitchen/baking set, I used two of her older sets in today’s card.
The top set is Doodle Flowers and the bottom set is Home Sweet Home. I have used the Doodle Flowers to create backgrounds and the Home Sweet Home for thank you cards and new home congratulations. This is the first time I have used them in a multi-layer card.
I stamped the images with Ink on 3 ink and colored with my Copics. I used V15, V17 and V12 for the violet flowers and Y17, Y35, Y38 and Y15 for the yellow flower and the house.
For the blue and gray houses, I used E23, E29,BG 0000, BG000 for the windows and wood trim. C1, C3 and C5 for the gray portion of the houses in the background and B00, B02 and B05 for the blue portion. For the hearts, I used R24, R39 and RV29. I used that color combo on the red flowers above as well. I used C1 and the blender on the clouds and finally, for the leaves, I used YG03, YG17, and YG 67. I am still experimenting with Copic color combos, but I like that one for leaves.
For the background sky and the grass, I used Distress Oxides Broken China and Mowed Lawn. I cut the frame out using Lawn Fawn’s Stitched Frame Dies and the Meadow Border die.

I first adhered the sun and cloud and hearts on the background. I used my ATG gun to attach all of my elements. I then put down 1 layer of the grass on the background and added the two house on top of the grass. I put a layer of Citipaper Velum over the entire background, then added the house and heart coming out of the chimney. I put down another layer of grass and put the two Doodle flowers in the foreground. I put the frame over the entire panel, then added the flowers, leaves and clouds on top of that.
I put the panel in my MISTI, and stamped the sentiment from the Home Sweet Home stamp set using INk on 3 ink.
I colored over the flowers, clouds and heart with Wink of Stella and added Glossy Accents on top of that. I adhered everything to an A2 side fold cardbase and that was it.
Thanks for stopping by! I have 2 more card projects in the works and hope to start videoing soon.
Take Care,
Patty
