Hi everyone, for today’s card, I used Catherine Pooler’s “Hello Autumn” fall leaves layering stamp set. It has the cutest acorns! It comes with a great guide to get you started, but sometimes I go rogue.

This card was inspired by looking up in Minneapolis yesterday. It was really windy and the few leaves that have changed were flying through the air.

I stamped three of each leaf on some random, scrap cardstock. I followed the layering guide for the Maple Leaf. All inks are from Catherine Pooler. I used Tiara, Tiki Torch, Orange Twist and Mandarin Spice for the first Maple leaf and the 6 leaf cluster that reminds me of Bleeding Heart leaves. On the second set, I used the same combo, but switched out Mandarin spice for the veins and used Icing on the Cake.

For the Oak leaf and the other leaf, I again followed the layering guide. I used Bellini, Polished, TuttiFrutti, and Peppermint Scrub. These colors allow for a more red colored leaf.
For the acorns, I used Bellini, Sand Castle, Over Coffee, Icing on the Cake and Midnight, Aren’t the acorns just darling!
For the green leaves, I used Garden Party, Sage, Grass Skirt and Eucalyptus. I think the green really helps the fall colors pop.
For the sky, I used Honey Bee Stamps Cloud Stencil and Catherine Poolers It’s A Boy ink. I put foam tape on the back of every leaf and added to my card. I cut off all of the leaf parts that were hanging over the edge.
For the sentiment, more random card stock and the sentiment from Hello Autumn. I used Versamark clear ink and Brutus Monroe’s Gilded, my favorite gold embossing powder. I put foam tape behind the sentiment, added it to my card and thought I was done.

I was creating a background for a different card, it required ink splashes. Apparently, I got a little overzealous. To cover up the splashes that added to this card, I added Nuvo Crystals on to the card base. I think it was a happy mistake! I added the card base to a card panel and called the card complete. I also quickly moved it elsewhere so I didn’t cause it any more harm.
Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope fall 2020 is kind to you all!
Patty
