I decided to plan ahead and create some sympathy cards. Hopefully, I won’t need to use them. Unfortunately, I am at the age where my friends are losing their parents.
I created a couple of backgrounds using the Catherine Pooler Music Notes Background stamp. I made these backgrounds in January (see January 25th blog post). I foiled them with Deco Foil Opal, inked them with some Catherine Pooler inks and sprayed them with some water.
I then stamped some floral images on vellum. I used Ink on 3’s Dogwood Flower stamp set and Catherine Pooler’s Blooming Bouquet stamp set. I used Ink on 3’s Juicy Clear Embossing & Watermark ink to stamp the images. I then embossed them with WOW! Opaque Bright White embossing powder.
To get a little more dimension in the florals, I took my Uniball Signo Angelic Colour pen and drew some white lines on the back of the embossed florals. It’s easy to do and it adds a lot to the images. I used Hero Arts Florals Rose Stem for the sentiment.

I adhered the images to A2 card bases and I was done.

Thanks so much for stopping by. 22 more days until Spring. But whose counting? Me!
Hi, my name is Patty and I have been a crafter and card maker for years. I have been married for 33 years to an amazing man and have two grown children. One is an engineer and one is a teacher for autistic children.
I took the name of “The Quiet Sister” because that is what I am. Of the 5 girls (and 3 boys) in my family, I am the quiet one. Unless I decide not to be.
I will be posting little bits of things as I craft weekly and try to capture things as they happen around the house. It’s pretty quiet with the kids grown, but they always come back to visit. And I always manage to get into or see something. I hope to inspire, teach and learn from you!
Thanks for visiting!
