Valentines for a Nursing Home

Hello again!

My sister and I decided we would send valentines to a nursing home. I made a few that took sooooo looong because I was coloring them. I then shopped my stash and came up with some goodies to make the process move along.

I decided that stencils and background die cuts would be the fastest options. I started out using Trinity Stamps Heart Burst Stencil and their Slimline Frame and Fold die. I decided to use the same color palette for the cards as well. My color palette was based on (and I used) Catherine Pooler’s It’s a Girl, Pucker Up, Samba and Rouge. I also used white cardstock.

I used Rouge and Pucker up to stencil the hearts. I trimmed down the panel and glued it to a card base. I used The hearts and the Love You sentiment from the Trinity Stamps Slimline Frame and Fold die. I used Iridescent Crystals from BB Crystal Company, my new favorite bling store. I used Concord and 9th’s You’re My Happy die on the other card panel.

For the striped cards, I used Pink Fresh Studio’s Fancy Diagonal Stripes. I did the ink to paper technique to color my own cardstock and cut those all out of those panels out with the die. I cut out a white panel as well. I randomly added the colored strips to the panels to make my base.

I used the You Are Loved die from Simon Says Stamp and cut the shadow out of vellum. I used Hero Arts Pink Heart sequins to finish it off. I used the Love Ya sentiment from My Favorite Things. He sparkle accents are from Doodle Bug. I have had all of these accent items for years. It’s nice to finally remember to use them.

I then used Gina K Designs Heart Felt stencil. I did a base layer of It’s a Girl, then Pucker up, Samba and Rouge. I added the I Adore You sentiment from Concord and 9th and floral sequins from Honey Bee Stamps. I put Hero Arts pearls on the floral sequins. I used the Love Ya from MFT stamps and used Hero Arts Heart sequins and BB Crystal Co Iridescent Crystals. In also used Glossy Accents on the sentiments.

I used Simon Says Stamps Shimmer Heart die along with Cathrine Poolers Love Note background stamp on these cards. I used the Simon Says Stamp You Are Loved sentiment and hearts I cut out from Trinty Stamps Slimline Frame and Fold die. The Love You came from a Simon Says stamp set that I can’t find right now.

I was able to make 4 cards in an hour while watching Encanto so I was pretty happy with my work. They are set to go to the nursing home tomorrow.

Thanks for taking the time to visit.

Have a great week!

Patty
