Easter Shaker Card

Happy Spring!

We might actually make 50 degrees in Minnesota today.  Finally! There are still many two foot drifts around my yard. Still, I will take the warmth.

I made an Easter card for my son.  My husband and daughter are very supportive of my card making and crafting, but my son is my biggest cheerleader.  There are some incredibly adorable stamps for Easter and Spring, but Michael is 31. Although he would appreciate the thought and effort of a card using the adorable stamps, cute little animals are not his thing.

He is still getting a cute card with an extremely adorable stamp, but it is versatile enough that I can adjust the look to make it Easter-ish but not overly cute. Michael likes interactive cards and appreciates the engineering behind them. He also appreciates the Cadbury eggs he and his sister and their significant others get every year.

Simon Says Stamp Doodle Background

I started by putting the Simon Says Stamp Doodle Egg Background in my MISTI and stamping both card panels with Versamark ink.  I heat embossed the top panel with Ranger Black embossing powder and the interior panel with Hero Arts Sparking Silver Embossing Powder.  I then colored part of the interior panel with my Arteza Real Brush Markers.  I did not use any water, I just used them like regular markers.

I used Lawn Fawn Outside In Easter Egg Stackables to cut out the center of my uncolored panel.  I used the second largest die.  I then adhered a piece of stamp packaging over the back of the uncolored panel and put 3M foam tape all around the back to create a shaker panel. I put Hero Arts Ombré Sequins in a pile on the colored panel.  I used blue, green, sunshine and purple Ombré Sequins. I lined up my uncolored panel over the colored panel so that the pattern would be continuous and adhered the two panels together.

For the sentiment, I used Simon Says Stamp Some Bunny stamp set.  I stamped it on a piece of black cardstock with Hero Arts Unicorn White ink and heat embossed with some WOW clear embossing powder. I cut out a fish tail on one end and attached the sentiment strip to my  card using more 3M foam tape.  I took my shaker panel and attached it to a side fold A2 card base.

I really love everything Simon Says Stamp comes out with for Easter.  I am not one to want complete sets of things, I only purchase what I feel I will use more than once and can think of three ways to use it right away. With that said, I buy most of Simon’s Easter products.

Thank you for stopping by!  Hope to see you soon.

Patty
