Hero Arts Hot Air Blooms

Happy Saturday Everyone!

We still have snow piles, but I also have some plants poking through in the garden.  I didn’t know if anything would survive after this horrible winter. I am glad to see the plants are rallying!

For todays card, I decided to create a colorful scene using Hero Arts Hot Air Blooms stamp set and co-ordinating dies.  I wanted a bright, cheerful, encouraging card.

To start, I stamped the images on some 65lb Recollections card stock.  I stamped it using Ink On 3 Black Out Ink.  I left the stamps in my Misti so I could restamp them after coloring.  I colored them using my Polychromos colored pencils.

For the Yellow Flowers, I used Cadmium Yellow 107, Dark Cadmium Yellow 108 and Dark Chrome Yellow 109.  For the red flowers, Deep Scarlett Red 219, Permanent Carmine 126 and Middle Cadmium Red 217.  For the orange, I used Deep Scarlet Red and Dark Cadmium Yellow.  For the pink flowers, I used Pink Madder Lake 129, Fuchsia 123 and Magenta 133. For the leaves I used Grass Green 166 and Hookers Green 159.  The blue background is Phthalo Blue 110.  For the baskets I used Brown Ochre 182, Raw Umber 180 and Van-Duck Brown 176.

Once I finished the coloring, I restamped the images with Versamark Ink and used my new favorite embossing powder from Ranger, Black Sparkle. I then cut them out using the die cuts and then trimmed down some of the white left behind from the die cut. I  went over the edges with Copic B12 marker. I created the clouds in the background using the HoneyBee Stamps Outdoor Scene Builder stencil and Distress Oxide Salty Ocean.

I popped the larger balloon on 3M foam tape.  I adhered the other images with Gina K Connect Glue. Stamped the birds and sentiment with Versafine black ink and embossed the birds with the same Ranger embossing powder.

I adhered the card panel to an A2 card base and that completed my card.
