Hello everyone!
For today’s card, I made a CAS card for AAA Cards challenge. The theme was butterflies and blue skies. I think you can surmise where the title came from.
To get started, I took a 4.25 by 5.5 inch card base and stenciled it Using Honey Bee Stamps Outdoor Scene Builder stencils. I used the cloud stencil to create the background for my card. I used Catherine Pooler’s It’s A Boy ink to stencil the clouds.
I then took Flickering Butterfly circle Die by Simon Says Stamp and embossed the butterflies into my cloud card panel. I took an additional panel of 110lb cardstock and cut out the butterflies so that I could color them.
I used my Copics to color the butterflies. I used B12 and B23 for the blue butterflies, Y11 and Y08 for the yellow and RV10 and RV23 for the pink. I colored the wings and bodies in the lighter color and added accents with the darker color. I glued the colored butterflies on to my card panel.
I then added the sentiment. I stamped the “Hello” from the Simon Says Stamp Magnificent Magnolia stamp set using Catherine Pooler It’s a Boy ink.
To finish up, I trimmed around the panel so that there would be white borders around the card. I attached the panel to my card base and then added Nuvo Crystal Drops. I used Bubble Gum Pink, Duck Egg Blue and Dandelion Yellow drops. Of course, I smeared the pink drops. I cleaned up the smear as best I could and my card was complete.
